Community Involvement

The Ag Lenders Society is dedicated to being the premier provider of education and information to agricultural business professionals. Part of this dedication includes giving back to the community. Ag Lenders believes it’s important to foster the next generation of agricultural lending professionals through funding scholarships. With the assistance from the California Farm Bureau, Ag Lenders Society annually awards two college scholarships to students wishing to purse a degree or career in agriculture with a special emphasis towards agricultural lending.  Not only do these scholarships assist students studying agriculture and prepare them for future agricultural challenges, but they also benefit ALSC members who will be seeking future employees.

Scholarships are awarded based on students’ academic achievement, leadership skills, career goals and extracurricular activities.

A special thank you to the California Farm Bureau Federation for helping ALSC find outstanding recipients.

Congratulations to the 2016 scholarships recipients.

Jenna Nichol
"I am a second year Agribusiness major at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, with a minor in Accounting. I spent the first 18 years of my life in Cottonwood, CA. Growing up in Cottonwood, it’s hard to not develop a passion for agriculture and in particularly a respect for ranchers across the North State. It is because of this passion for agriculture that I am choosing to guide my career path towards the agriculture industry. After obtaining my bachelor’s in Agribusiness, I plan to attend the graduate’s program at Cal Poly, get my Master’s in Accounting and ultimately get my CPA license. Although a career in accounting may seem like a far cry from AG, I want to use my industry knowledge and experience along with my degree to remain involved in agriculture. I would like to thank California Farm Bureau and the AG Lenders Society of California for helping fund my education and allowing me to reach my goals."
